Experience

Dr Jim Lai Chee Chuen has undertaken the role as advisor in a variety of corporate and debt restructuring exercises involving mergers, acquisitions, divestments, fund-raising and reverse takeovers of public listed companies.

Dr Jim Lai’s previous experiences include the following:

• Conducted and led teams to undertake business valuations and deal management on divestment of equity interests, fund-raising as well as corporate debt restructuring for private, state-owned enterprises and listed entities.
• Undertaken role as expert witness in proceedings involving breach of trust, misappropriation and fraud
• Provided interim management services to restructure and turn around listed companies in the construction, information technology, property management and paper packaging sectors.
• Conducted and led teams to undertake corporate and debt restructuring services of several large diversified listed groups.
• Conducted and led a team to undertake Independent Financial Advisor and Monitoring Accountant for a group of banks concerning a telecommunication Group.
• Conducted and led a team to undertake privatization of state-owned enterprises in the transportation sector.
• Conducted and led teams to undertake strategic reviews and restructuring of SMEs and Government owned entities.
• Conducted and led teams to undertake investigative audits concerning alleged frauds and for dispute resolutions.
• Acting as a court appointed liquidator over the affairs of a large real estate company wound-up voluntarily.

Dr Jim Lai will have the overall responsibility for the engagement, providing direction and support to the team, leading key discussions and is the independent expert witness.
